First Step Services is a substance abuse and mental health outpatient treatment and counseling program with services available in Raleigh, Durham and Garner,NC.

First Step provides alcohol and drug abuse counseling, psychiatric services,mental health counseling, couples counseling and family counseling.

Counseling services provided by First Step Services are individual, group and Intensive Outpatient alcohol and drug counseling. Assessments and counseling sessions are available 6 days per week. Both day and evening appointmentsare available.

Psychiatric services are provided to those who request them on an appoinmemt only basis. Psychiatric services are generally provided in coordination with counselors and therapists at First Step. Clients are usually seen  first by a licensed therapist and will meet with the psychiatrist afterwards.

First Step is licensed by the North Carolina Department of Health and  Human Services to provide Mental Health, Substance Abuse and DWI services. 

First Step offers all services necessary to complete the substance abuse assessment requirements of a DWI or drinking and driving arrest.

If you live out of state and received an NC DWI, you can resolve the required substance abuse assessment and counseling or education in your own  local area without returning to NC.

We provide family services for those who are affected by alcohol abuse, drug abuse or mental health concerns of someone they care about.
